I wrote this song at a significant transition point in my life. I had recently ended a twelve-year relationship that was fraught with challenges, learning, and growth. I felt like I had turned a new page and was beginning to feel myself again. I was in a new relationship and being met in ways that I had only dreamed of. In this new space of love and acceptance, I reflected on the past years and saw the moments when I was paralyzed in fear, unable to act or respond with clarity and intention, and the moments when I felt deep trust, and it was going to work out. I had to keep the faith and stay true to myself no matter what.
